
The sub-project "Green Agrotourism" is part of the action "Economic Transformation of the Agricultural Sector" and is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund. The total budget amounts to €49,006,000 and covers the entire Greek territory.
Objectives of the sub-project are:
1. Improving the position of farmers in the value chain.
2. Enhance the competitiveness and recognition of products in markets by positioning them in points attracting visitors and tourists and developing experiential agrotourism activities.
3. Integrate innovation processes and the use of new technologies, as well as environmentally friendly processes that mitigate climate change.
4. The sustainable local development and the efficient management of natural resources.
Who is it for?
Eligible beneficiaries may include all legal entities, whether they belong to SMEs or large enterprises, subject to the specific provisions set forth in the applicable special article of the Greek Agricultural Code (GAC). Beneficiaries also include newly established legal entities that complete the establishment procedures before the issuance of the individual approval decision for aid.
Individuals operating under the form of civil law companies cannot be considered eligible beneficiaries, except for Social Cooperative Enterprises and partnerships.
Eligibility Requirements
Indicative eligibility criteria are as follows:
1. Investment Project Maturity
2. Legal establishment of beneficiary
3. Green transition
4. Implementation of the experiential agrotourism plan
5. Viability of the investment
Investment plans should connect the primary and secondary sectors with the tertiary sector, creating a new tourism product. It is essential to create a plan for experiential agrotourism that includes documented gastronomic activities and other forms of alternative tourism.
Reference point of the program is that it requires the submission of a plan for cooperation with at least 5 legal and collective entities from the region for the implementation of the investment, which will be described in detail:
– Their role in the plan of implementation of the plan of experiential tourism.
– The degree of diversification of the tourism product through the proposed cooperation.
– The financial contribution of selected entities (which shall not constitute eligible expenditure for the investment project) in the context of implementation of the cooperation.
– The commitment of the project, an experiential tourism for a period of time defined in the long-term commitments.
– The projected economic benefits.
What does the program subsidize?
Eligible expenses include the following:
(a) Construction or modernization of buildings.
(b) Configuration of the space environment in order to serve the needs of the unit.
(c) Vehicles with which the company carries out transportation of raw materials and products (finished and semi-finished), within the area of the unit.
(d) Purchase, transport and installation of equipment, including lab equipment to the extent that it serves the function of the unit.
(e) equipment Costs computerization of the business (such as market telephone installations, network intercom, computer and peripheral equipment, copy machines, security systems installations, systems, fire protection facilities).
(f)Costs to ensure accessibility to people with disabilities.
(g) Intangible expenses such as software acquisition and acquisition of patents, licenses for intellectual property rights, trademarks, etc.
As for the accommodation, in the framework of the programme reinforced the establishment of the following functional forms of accommodation subject to the following terms, conditions and limitations:
(a) Hotels classic type 5, 4 or 3-star, with a minimum capacity of 10 rooms and 20 beds,
(b) Hotels-type furnished rooms 5 or 4-star, with a minimum capacity of 30 beds,
(c) Pensions 4 key with a minimum capacity of 5 rooms and 10 beds,
(d) apartments 4 key with a minimum capacity of 5 rooms and 10 beds
(e) Tourist furnished residences, whether individual or in series or in complex, single or two-story houses that are self-contained, each with independent external access and privacy, with minimum dimensions:
(aa) one-room 40 sq.m.
(bb) the two main areas of 60 sq.m.
